I began working with teenagers in 2007, first within secondary schools and later with looked‑after children. These early career experiences shaped my understanding of the challenges young people face and deepened my commitment to supporting them through difficult transitions.
My path into counselling began in 2015, inspired in part by my own childhood and noticing similar patterns in some of the young people I worked with.
Growing up as a forces child meant I was regularly moving schools, leaving friends behind, constantly starting again and never really feeling like I belonged. Although I found these experiences challenging, they also built a foundation of resilience that I now recognise as a strength. Through my therapeutic training and practice, I’ve been able to make sense of these early experiences and understand how they influenced the person and practitioner I’ve become.
My counselling journey has also played a vital role in supporting me through significant difficulties in adulthood, including the death of my father in my early twenties and a later period of serious illness. The insights and tools I gained through therapy helped me navigate these times with greater self‑compassion and emotional grounding.
Today, I bring both my professional experience and personal understanding of change, resilience, and recovery into my work. I am passionate about offering a safe, steady, and empathetic space where others can explore their own stories and move toward greater wellbeing.
