Hello, I'm Emma. Modern life can be a struggle for all of us times, leaving us feeling unheard, anxious, sad, angry and hopeless. If these feelings are not spoken about and processed, our mental health can be negatively impacted.
Our emotions are responses to our experiences and my role is to help you to unpick these thoughts and feelings and decide which ones benefit you and which you should let go of. An example would be the feeling of guilt we sometimes hold when someone has died, the shame we feel after hurting someone we love, or perhaps you are a young person who is bullied, causing you to feel unvalued and sad.
First and foremost, I am here to offer you a safe confidential space and to listen. It is not for me to give you answers, but I may challenge you to help you recognise your thinking patterns to help you to find your own solutions.
In addition to adults, I work with young people aged 12+ . I have 18 years experience working with teenagers and young people in school settings and the care system.
For your peace of mind, I hold professional insurance and an enhanced DBS which can be viewed on request.
Because counselling is such an important investment, I offer an initial 30 minute consultation at no cost , allowing the client to make an informed decision before beginning paid counselling sessions.
